Care at every stage.
The character of cut crystal emerges through shaping, cutting and polishing. Each stage refines its form, reveals its pattern and brings out the way it catches the light.
01 — Melting
Where the process begins
The crystal glass mixture is heated until molten and ready to be shaped. Careful control of temperature prepares the material for the next stage.
02 — Hot Forming
Giving shape to the molten crystal
While still hot and workable, the molten crystal is shaped into its initial form, establishing the proportions of the piece.
03 — Hand Shaping
Refining the silhouette
The silhouette is refined by hand, with attention to the profile and proportions of the piece. These adjustments prepare its form for the pattern that follows.
04 — Guide Marking
Setting out the guides
Guide lines divide the cooled surface into measured sections. These reference points help keep the pattern aligned around the curves of the piece.
05 — Pattern Layout
Composing the pattern
The design is mapped onto the guides, setting the spacing and intersections of the cuts. Each line contributes to the balance of the finished pattern.
06 — Pattern Cutting
Revealing depth in crystal
The crystal piece is guided against a rotating cutting wheel to follow the planned design. The angle and depth of each cut create the facets that give the surface its texture and reflections.
07 — Hand Polishing
Bringing out the clarity
The cut surfaces are polished to refine their finish and reveal the clarity of the crystal. Light moves across the facets, bringing the pattern into sharper relief.
08 — The Finished Piece
Made to be enjoyed
Form, pattern and finish come together in a crystal glass that reveals new details as it turns in the light. The finished piece brings that care into everyday use.
